The Sincerest Form of Flattery

Imagine my surprise to receive my most recent Anthropologie catalog and find it done in partnership with Nashville's own Hatch Show Print. Now where have I seen them featured before...? Gosh, it's on the tip of my tongue...Oh, wait: Right HERE.

Come to think of it, this new couch of theirs looks awfully familiar, too:

Oh, right...that's because it was IN MY LIVING ROOM.

Strange coincidence? Probably. But in case it's not, Anthropologie, I would like this: This:

And this:

Now we're even.

They absolutely ripped you off. They look everywhere for new ideas.

The little design assistant probably reads you every day.

It's amazing how much of the blogosphere actually ends up influencing the big retailers (rather than vice versa).

Btw, just found your store and your blog and I love both! In fact, I even had to do a little post on my blog featuring my favorite items in your store. Your taste is superb!

Obviously they did not want to embarass you by mentioning you and making it a BIG deal. They knew how humble you are. In any case, please get 2 of dress #2 as I will be needing it for this summer.

Rebecca, that is so true... You know how I hate any sort of high-profile press, especially when it is free and/or may involve an exchange of designer clothing. The horror!

I will let you know when our dresses arrive.

Everyone knows I don't REALLY think Anthropologie ripped me off, that I am aware I did not invent Hatch Show Prints and tufted sofas, that Anthropologie does not know me or my store even exist. Right? Just checking.

Puck, don't scare me so. I can't take back-to-back negative comments! Thank god for the second paragraph.

I have something similar... sort of...

I blogged about some of the projects I am working on and put up pictures.... then someone points me to a blog that, the next day, posts pictures of pretty much the same project.

LAME!

i have an idea, why don't you post some photos of projects you work on, instead of what anthropologie is working on? just a thought.
